DESCRIPTION: Tabletop vacuum tube radio manufactured by Crosley in the 1951 time frame. Rare color from factory. Crosley quality is nearly unsurpassed among radios made during this period. The engineering, finish, design, and quality construction makes these radios highly desired among collectors.
CABINET CONDITION: Cabinet is original factory molded Bakelite cabinet repainted in original factory turquoise color. Professionally refinished mirror glossy, polished, no dings, orange peel, or drips. There is a repaired thin hairline on the top right corner. No chips or major scratches. Metal trim rings are in excellent condition with no rust and no greening. There is one oxidation spot that is slightly tarnished on top arc.
SOUND QUALITY: Picks up AM stations clearly and loudly up and down the dial.
KNOBS: All original factory matching knobs; volume, tuning, no attach post cracks, and securely attached. Some tarnish on metal surfaces. Tuning pointer is intact with no cracks or repairs and securely attached. The tuning pointer decorative ring is broken off.
DIAL LIGHT: No dial or clock light. Not designed with one. But can be added for an extra charge.
LOGOS: No missing logos.
APPLIANCE PLUG: None.
INTERNAL ELECTRONICS: All out of spec capacitors have been replaced with modern equivalents so this radio has another 50+ years or more of playing time! The tubes are working fine. All out-of-spec dog bone resistors have been replaced with modern correct value and voltage equivalents. There is no loud or pervasive hum. The set has been aligned according to factory specifications. The radio has been thoroughly cleaned and inspected. All wiring has been thoroughly checked for possible bridging and weak solder connection.
POWER CORD: Brand new replacement power cord and safety polarized plug are in excellent condition with no cracks, or splits. No exposed wiring.
BACKING BOARD: New replacement backing board is in excellent condition with no cracks no rips and securely attached. Added backing board stabilizers to the bottom left and right sides to ensure another 50 years of use and service.
FACTORY LABELS: No bottom factory labels.
PROVENANCE: Was gently used, lovingly displayed, or stored in a dry cool environment for a long period of time. No evidence of prolonged exposure to moisture, smoking, cooking grease, pets or thick carpet.
