Testa Rossa Red Motorola Model 5T22R "The Dragster" AM Vacuum Tube Radio Great Sounding! Very Rare Desirable Model!
DESCRIPTION: It's not often we see one of these in this color in any condition! There a few collectors out there who have been waiting years to get one of these! Tabletop tube AM radio manufactured by Motorola in 1957 in excellent working and physical condition. Original factory red molded color. Was also available in ivory, chocolate brown, and yellow.
SOUND QUALITY: Picks up AM stations clearly and loudly around the dial without need of external antenna attachment.
CABINET CONDITION: Original factory molded red plastic in excellent condition. Extensive repairs on top due to heat cracks and rounded chip by the lower right edge of the tuning round area. No cracks on sides, bottom or front. No repaint, overspray or touch up on sides or front. Top and bottom round bout has touch and over-spray. Paint color match is excellent. All original red factory molded colors through and through. Front tuning gold insert is original, securely attached, no rub off, some oxidation. The
KNOBS: All volume and tuning knobs are original and securely attached real clean. Volume and tuning knobs are not missing center gold metal inserts. The tuning dial works fine no slipping no sticky spots.
LOGOS: No missing factory logos. Replacement logo is from a different model. Securely attached. Excellent condition.
CLOCK: No clock
DIAL LIGHT: No dial light. Not designed with one but can be added for an extra charge.
INTERNAL ELECTRONICS: All paper and wax capacitors have been replaced with modern equivalents so this radio has another 50+ years or more of playing time! Both Intermediate Frequency Transformers (IFTs) have been rebuilt to ensure static-free performance. The tubes are working fine. All out-of-spec resistors have been replaced with modern correct value and voltage equivalents. There is no loud or pervasive hum. There is no loud or pervasive static between stations. The set has been aligned according to factory specifications. The antique radio has been thoroughly cleaned and inspected. All wiring has been thoroughly checked for possible bridging and weak solder connection.
POWER CABLE: Brand new replacement power cable and safety polarized plug are in excellent working condition no breaks no exposed wires no brittleness.
BACKING BOARD: Original factory backing board is in very good condition with no cracks or rips. Has tape glue residue.
