DESCRIPTION: AM Tabletop tube clock radio manufactured by GE General Electric in the 1940-1941 time frame still in excellent+ working condition. This radio has a very golden age of radio look. There are minor hairline cracks on front, bottom and right side that have been repaired. All knobs, dial pointer, etc are present, working, not missing. Picks up AM stations clearly and loudly up and down the dial without external antenna attachment although I live in the Connecticut country side where reception is not so good. Excellent art deco design! Glass dial cover is uncracked and clear. Original ivory painted bakelite cabinet is flawless mirror-like glossy condition. The volume and tuning knobs are original matching Catalin or Plaskon securely attached. This radio is over 70 years old! All the dial numbering and lettering is crisp and clear. Look at the neat Art Deco-ish type font! Dial light is newly replaced and lights up brightly. No missing numbering, dots or dashes, or anything. No smudges or yellowing. The back panel is a original functional but a little warped with fatigued corners. The tuning and volume dials work fine. The unit powers on and off with a definite click. All out of spec capacitors have been replaced with modern equivalents so this radio has another 50+ years or more of playing time! The tubes are working fine. All out-of-spec resistors have been replaced with modern correct value and voltage equivalents. The modern replacement power cord and plug is in excellent working condition with no cracks, or splits or electrical tape repair. No exposed wiring. The radio has been thoroughly cleaned and inspected. All wiring has been thoroughly checked for possible bridging and weak solder connection. Comes from non-smoking, mature, clean professional environment no pets. When this radio was new, FDR was president! This thing belongs in a museum!
