Siren Red 1956 Motorola Model 56R AM Vacuum Tube Radio Loud and Clear Sounding Banshee!
DESCRIPTION: Tabletop vacuum tube AM radio manufactured by Motorola in 1956 time frame in excellent working andphysical condition.
SOUND QUALITY: Picks up AM stations very clearly and very loudly around the dial without need of external antenna attachment.
CABINET CONDITION: Cabinet is original factory molded red urea plastic a hard quality plastic that predates a lot of the poly carbonate plastics we find every where today. Factory original molded colors through and through. Not repainted. No touch up. No over spray. No cracks, chips, or major scratches or missing pieces. Heat shield has been installed underside to reduce possibility of heat cracking in the future.
KNOBS: Original factory matching red plastic tuning and and volume knobs. The tuning numbers are clear and readable no rub off. Volume and tuning knob metal inserts are not missing.
LOGO: No missing Motorola logo. Center grill "M" has not been repainted black. Original factory painted logo.
DIAL LIGHT: No tuning or clock dial lights. Not designed with this one. But can be added for an extra charge.
CLOCK: No clock
INTERNAL ELECTRONICS: All paper and wax capacitors have been replaced with modern equivalents so this radio has another 50+ years or more of playing time! The tubes are working fine. All out-of-spec resistors have been replaced with modern correct value and voltage equivalents. Both Intermediate Frequency Transformers (IFTs) have been rebuilt to ensure static-free performance. There is no loud or pervasive hum. There is no loud or pervasive static between stations. The set has been aligned according to factory specifications. All wiring has been thoroughly checked for possible bridging and weak solder connection. The radio has been thoroughly cleaned and inspected.
POWER CORD:: Original power cord and plug are in excellent condition with no cracks, or splits. No exposed wiring.
BACKING BOARD: Original factory backing board is in excellent condition and securely mounted. Factory printing is not faded. Top right corner of the backing board has been patched and repaired.
FACTORY LABELS AND STICKERS: No missing bottom labels.
