Ocean Breeze Turquoise and White 1963 Olympic Model AFM-20 Tube AM FM Radio Sounds Heavenly!
DESCRIPTION: Tabletop tube AM/FM radio manufactured by Olympic in 1963 in excellent working and physical condition. These vacuum tube radios with both AM and FM are rare. By the mid-sixties, most AM/FM radios were solid state transistor based. So, to have a tube radio with retro fifties colors that receives FM not just AM is a real find! Picks up AM & FM stations clearly and loudly up and down the dial with antenna attachment included. Cabinet is in excellent condition with no cracks, chips or major scratches. Slightly yellowed in one place on back on due to sunlight. The speaker grill is in excellent condition. All original factory molded colors. No repaint. No over spray. No touch up. None needed. This radio is over 55 years old! No missing ink, smudges, or rub-off dial lettering. The tuning dial works fine and smooth no slipping. All paper and wax capacitors have been replaced with modern equivalents so this radio has another 50+ years or more of playing time! The tubes are working fine. All out-of-spec resistors have been replaced with modern correct value and voltage equivalents. There is no loud or pervasive hum. There is no loud or pervasive static between stations unless you operate near modern megahertz devices. The set has been aligned according to factory specifications. No exposed wiring. The radio has been thoroughly cleaned and inspected. All wiring has been thoroughly checked for possible bridging and weak solder connection. Comes from non-smoking, mature, clean professional environment.
