Sage Green Tweed Bakelite 1948 Airline Model 84HA-1527A Vacuum Tube AM Radio Sounds Great Excellent Condition!
DESCRIPTION: Tabletop vacuum tube AM vacuum tube radio alarm manufactured by Montgomery Ward Airline in 1948 in excellent working and physical condition.
SOUND QUALITY: Picks up AM stations very clearly and loudly around the dial without need of external antenna attachment.
CABINET CONDITION: Cabinet is original sage green factory molded Bakelite cabinet. Has been repainted but came from the factory in sage green. No cracks, chips or major scratches or missing pieces. Original factory tweed grill cloth yellowed and lightly water stained but not ripped, frayed, sagging, or loose at the edges.
KNOBS: Original plastic tuning and volume on/off knobs are original, matching and securely attached. Tuning dial works fine no slipping no sticky spots. Volume on/off switch is original and securely attached.
LOGO: No missing logos.
DIAL LIGHT: Dial light works and lights brightly.
INTERNAL ELECTRONICS: All paper and wax capacitors have been replaced with modern equivalents so this radio has another 50+ years or more of playing time! Both Intermediate Frequency Transformers (IFTs) have been rebuilt to ensure static-free performance. The tubes are working fine. All out-of-spec resistors have been replaced with modern correct value and voltage equivalents. There is no loud or pervasive hum. There is no loud or pervasive static between stations. The set has been aligned according to factory specifications. All wiring has been thoroughly checked for possible bridging and weak solder connection. The radio has been thoroughly cleaned and inspected.
POWER CORD: The brand new replacement power cord and safety polarized plug are in excellent condition with no cracks, or splits. No exposed wiring.
BACKING BOARD: Original backing board securely mounted to the back of the cabinet. Factory printing on backing board is faded.
FACTORY LABELS AND STICKERS: No missing bottom labels.
