DESCRIPTION: Decorative real solid wood solid state transistor AM/FM radio manufactured by Mororola (Galvin Manufacturing Co. of Chicago) in 1968 time frame in excellent working and physical condition.
SOUND QUALITY: Picks up AM and FM stations clearly and loudly up and down the dial without need of external antenna attachment. Very loud and clear if you want to make some noise in the kitchen!
CABINET CONDITION: Real solid wood cabinet is all original factory manufacturer. Not repainted. No touch up. No over spray. Factory original semi-gloss stain and cxlear coat. There is a discoloration scratch on top. No cracks, chips, or major scratches or missing pieces anywhere on wood construction. Original factory grill fabric is in excellent condition with no stains or peeling edges. Front trtanslucent yellow tuning window is clear, no cracks, no scratches, securely attached. No broken attach tabs.
KNOBS: Original factory matching chrome painted plastic tuning and volume knobs. Not missing center gold metal inserts. Most chrome paint is rubbed of the tuning dial. AM FM bandswitch works in excellent condition.
LOGO: No missing logos.
DIAL LIGHT: No tuning dial lights. Not designed with this one. But can be added for an extra charge.
CLOCK: No clock.
INTERNAL ELECTRONICS: All paper and wax capacitors have been replaced with modern equivalents so this radio has another 50+ years or more of playing time! All out-of-spec resistors have been replaced with modern correct value and voltage equivalents. There is no loud or pervasive hum. There is no loud or pervasive static between stations. The set has been aligned according to factory specifications. All wiring has been thoroughly checked for possible bridging and weak solder connection. The radio has been thoroughly cleaned and inspected.
POWER CORD: The brand new replacement power cord and safetry polarized plug are in excellent condition. No exposed wiring.
BACKING BOARD: Back cover is in excellent condition with no cracks, no chips, no major scratches.
FACTORY LABELS AND STICKERS: Bottom factory label is intact and readable.
PROVENANCE: Previous owner identity is not known. Was gently used then stored in a dry cool environment for a long period of time. No evidence of prolonged exposure to cigarette smoking, moisture, or pets.
