Pomegranate Red 1953 General Electric Model 547 Retro AM Clock Radio Works Great!
DESCRIPTION: Understated and elegant. Very popular design back in the mid fifties! Tabletop tube AM radio manufactured by General Electric in the early 1950's excellent working condition. Model number 547. Cabinet is original factory molded red with attractive golden clock face. Someone once sprayed something corrosive so there's all these little droplet specks over the front face but you would need to look closely to see them. The front metal fascia is in excellent condition with no rust, tarnish and very little oxidation. No cracks on the top! No cracks, repairs or missing material. No repaint or repairs. None needed. All original everything. This vintage radio has a chip or maybe it's a cigarette burn on the front edge top left side. All knobs are original and securely attached. This radio is over 60 years old! The on/off/sleep little knobs are all present and working fine. Amazing. These little knobs almost always go missing after all these years. The tuning dial works fine. No dial light. Not designed with one. I was surprised. There are few scratches at the bottom of the clock clear cover around 6 o'clock. The power cable is securely attached. The original power cord is in good working condition. Clock works and keeps accurate time. Clock motor is quiet no humming buzzing or grinding sounds. Alarm works. Clock and alarm set function work. Sleep function works. All paper and wax capacitors have been replaced with modern equivalents so this radio has another 50+ years or more of playing time! The tubes are working fine. All out-of-spec resistors have been replaced with modern correct value and voltage equivalents. The set has been aligned according to factory specifications. The radio has been thoroughly cleaned and inspected. All wiring has been thoroughly checked for possible bridging and weak solder connection. Comes from non-smoking, mature, clean professional environment.
