DESCRIPTION: Vintage tabletop vacuum tube AM radio manufactured by Zenith in 1955 in excellent working and physical condition.
CABINET CONDITION: Original cabinet is factory molded in red color plastic. Finish is mirror glossy. Not repainted, no over spray, not touched up. Not needed. No cracks, chips, or major scratches any where on cabinet. Usually this model has top stress crack by the back edge but not this one. Gold metal grill is original, moderately tarnished not rusted or dented or dinged. Ivory plastic handle is in excellent working condition. There two chips on corners of the handle.
SOUND QUALITY: This radio picks up AM stations real clearly and loudly around the dial without need of external antenna attachment.
DIAL LIGHT: Tuning dial light works and follows arc of tuning dial pointer rotation. Sweet!
KNOBS: The matching ivory plastic knobs of this vintage tube radio are original and securely attached. The volume knob center metal gold insert is slightly more tarnished than the tuning knob. Tuning knob center gold metal insert is in excellent condition.
INTERNAL ELECTRONICS: The capacitors been replaced with modern equivalents so this radio has another 50+ years or more of playing time! Intermediate Frequency Transformers (IFTs) have been rebuilt or replaced to ensure static free performance. The tubes are working fine. All out-of-spec resistors have been replaced with modern correct value and voltage equivalents. There is no loud or pervasive hum. There is no loud or pervasive static between stations unless you operate near modern megahertz devices. The set has been aligned according to factory specifications.
POWER CORD: Original power cord and plug is in excellent condition, no cracks, or splits. No exposed wiring.
BACKING BOARD: Original backing board is intact in excellent condition.
LABELS: Bottom factory labels is mostly intact and legible.
