Rally Red and White 1955 General Electric Model 471 AM Tube Radio Real Charmer!
DESCRIPTION: Manufactured by GE of then high class beautiful city of Bridgeport CT! Tabletop tube AM vintage radio manufactured by GE in mid-1950's in excellent+ working and physical condition. Picks up AM stations clearly and loudly up and down the dial without need of external antenna attachment. Cabinet is in excellent condition with no splits, or missing plastic. There is a hairline crack along the top right edge. This radio is over 60 years old! The knobs are in excellent condition. The tuning dial has awesome but short-lived GE trident insignia on the face of it. The tuning dial works fine and smooth no slipping. There is a small section of the tuning dial inner edge that is chipped. Dial light lights up brightly from behind the tuning dial follows rotation of dial. ON OFF switch works pulls out to turn on, and has smooth level attenuation across its range. All paper and wax capacitors have been replaced with modern equivalents so this radio has another 50+ years or more of playing time! The tubes are working fine. All out-of-spec resistors have been replaced with modern correct value and voltage equivalents. There is no loud or pervasive hum. There is no loud or pervasive static between stations unless you operate near modern megahertz devices. The set has been aligned according to factory specifications. This radio sounds wonderful! Label is missing on the bottom. The power cord and plug is a replacement and is in new condition with no cracks, or splits. No exposed wiring. The radio has been thoroughly cleaned and inspected. All wiring has been thoroughly checked for possible bridging and weak solder connection. Comes from non-smoking, mature, clean professional environment.
