Purple Haze 1950 General Electric Model 400  Vacuum Tube Radio S'cuz Me While I Kiss The Sky!

DESCRIPTION: This original burgundy color radio has faded to a one of a kind purple swirly color due to rare combination of environmental, manufacturing, and chemical conditions that would be impossible to duplicate. Plus, this was a highly figured burgundy swirl example to begin with. The result is a jaw dropping purple hazy swirly color with purple and white and brown highlights. Beautiful or just defect? Is the Grand Canyon just erosion? Vintage 1950 tabletop vacuum tube AM radio manufactured by GE in excellent working and physical condition. No cracks, chips, or major scratches. Original factory molded burgundy faded to purple color plastic. Not repainted. No over spray no touch up. None needed. This radio picks up AM stations real clearly and loudly up and down the dial without need of external antenna attachment. Dial light works and lights brightly. The dial light follows the arc of the tuning pointer and illuminates from behind. Cool! The knobs of this vintage tube radio are original.  Original knobs securely attached. The capacitors been replaced with modern equivalents so this radio has another 50+ years or more of playing time! The tubes are working fine. All out-of-spec resistors have been replaced with modern correct value and voltage equivalents. There is no loud or pervasive hum. There is no loud or pervasive static between stations unless you operate near modern megahertz devices. The set has been aligned according to factory specifications. Brand new replacement power cord and safety polarized polarized plug has no cracks, or splits. Original backing board is intact in excellent condition. Bottom factory labels are not missing. The radio has been thoroughly cleaned and inspected. All wiring has been thoroughly checked for possible bridging and weak solder connection. Comes from non-smoking, mature, clean professional environment.
