DESCRIPTION: AM Tabletop tube clock radio manufactured by Telechron in the 1948 time frame still in excellent+ working condition. We see Telechron clock movements in the clock radios of other manufacturers throughout the 50's but this model is actually a model Telechron relabeled as their own. I think the original manufacturer is actually General Electric. This radio is very post war industrial looking even a little Art Deco. To me, it looks like the Merrimack iron clad gun ship from the Civil War. No cracks, splits, abrasions, or missing material anywhere on the cabinet! No repairs or repaints of any kind. One of the little clock set knobs is missing. Picks up AM stations clearly and loudly up and down the dial without external antenna attachment. Excellent art deco design! Original brown marble swirly bakelite cabinet is flawless mirror-like glossy condition. The volume and tuning knobs are original matching ivory bakelite securely attached. Clock works and keeps accurate time. Clock is quiet. Alarm works, Alarm set works. Clock set works. Sleep function works. The radio on/off/alarm switch doesn't seem to be working so you either need to unplug the clock and radio or leave it plugged in with radio volume turned down of the radio stays on. This radio is over 60 years old! All the dial numbering and lettering is crisp and clear. Look at the neat Art Deco-ish type font! No missing numbering, dots or dashes, or anything. No smudges or yellowing. The back panel is a replacement. The tuning and volume dials work fine. The tubes are working fine. The power cord and plug is is a new replacement with no cracks, or splits or electrical tape repair. No exposed wiring. The radio has been thoroughly cleaned and inspected. All wiring has been thoroughly checked for possible bridging and weak solder connection. Comes from non-smoking, mature, clean professional environment no pets. When this radio was new, Harry S Truman was president! This thing belongs in a museum!
