Marble Swirly Brown Bakelite Vintage 1948 Philco Model 48-250 AM Radio Sounds Amazing!
DESCRIPTION: Very proportioned design and sounds great! Tabletop tube radio manufactured by Philco in the 1948 timeframe still in excellent cosmetic and working condition. Dial lights up brightly. The original knobs are matching brown plastic securely attached. No chips, splits, abrasions, or missing material anywhere on the cabinet! This vintage radio is in the original factory color brown bakelite. All original knobs, dial pointer, etc are present, working, not missing. Picks up AM stations clearly and loudly up and down the dial without external antenna attachment. Excellent art deco design! This radio is over 65 years old! All the dial numbering and lettering is crisp and clear. No flaking which is common with Philco dial glass. Clear dial glass is original with very little hazing or yellowing and no cracks. Philco manufacturer label is ribbed off in parts. No missing numbering, dots or dashes, or anything. No smudges or yellowing. The tuning and volume dials work fine. The unit powers on and off with a definite click. The original bottom label is intact. All out of spec capacitors have been replaced with modern equivalents so this radio has another 50+ years or more of playing time! The tubes are working fine. All out-of-spec resistors have been replaced with modern correct value and voltage equivalents. The power cord and plug is in perfect working condition with no cracks, or splits or electrical tape repair. Backing board is missing. 9 out of 10 of these old Philco have missing backing boards. The radio has been thoroughly cleaned and inspected. All wiring has been thoroughly checked for possible bridging and weak solder connection. Comes from non-smoking, mature, clean professional environment.
