Genuine Leatherette 1946 General Television Model 1A5 Vacuum Tube AM Radio Works Great!
DESCRIPTION: Tabletop vacuum tube AM radio manufactured by General Television in the 1946 time fame in excellent working and physical condition. Was owned by the late Les Richter, pro-NFL Hall of Famer and NASCAR CEO.
CABINET CONDITION: Cabinet is an artisan crafted wood cabinet with factory original brown leatherette covering. Not repainted no touch up and not over sprayed. The factory original handle, grill, tuning window trim and knobs are in very good condition with no no chips in original factory molded ivory color. Plastic is not repainted, not touched up and not over sprayed. All trim pieces are securely attached with original internal post clips not missing not glued. Original tuning gold metal foil backing is in excellent condition with no bends, warping, rust, oxidation, peeling or fading. Original red Saturn shape tuning pointer is in excellent condition with no cracks, no warping, securely attached. Original clear tuning window is in excellent condition with no cracks, no warping and is attached, though separated on the right side from the housing.
WORKING CONDITION: Picks up AM stations clearly and loudly up and down the dial without need of external antenna attachment.
LOGO: No missing logos
KNOBS: The tuning knob is in excellent condition no cracks no chips securely attached. Tuning pointer rotates with ease, no slipping, no sticky or stuck spots.
LETTERING: No missing ink, smudges, or rub-off on tuning dial numbering. The tuning dial works fine no slipping or sticky spots.
DIAL LIGHT: Dial lights works and lights brightly
CLOCK: No clock
SOUND QUALITY: There is no loud or pervasive hum. There is no loud or pervasive static between stations unless you operate near modern megahertz devices. The set has been aligned according to factory specifications.
INTERNAL ELECTRONICS: All out of tolerance paper and wax capacitors have been replaced with modern equivalents so this radio has another 50+ years or more of playing time! The tubes are working fine. All out-of-spec resistors have been replaced with modern correct value and voltage equivalents. The radio has been thoroughly cleaned and inspected. All wiring has been thoroughly checked for possible bridging and weak solder connection.
BACKING BOARD: Original backing board is in excellent condition.
POWER CORD: The replacement power cord and plug are in excellent original working condition with no cracks, or splits. No exposed wiring.
FACTORY LABEL: Factory label is in excellent condition.
