DESCRIPTION: Tabletop tube AM clock alarm radio manufactured by Admiral in 1962 in excellent physical and working condition.
SOUND QUALITY: Picks up AM stations clearly and loudly around the dial without need of external antenna attachment. Very impressive sensitivity on this example. Able to receive stations other receivers have not.
CABINET CONDITION: Cabinet is original factory shiny. No major scratches or missing pieces. There is a small hairline crack on the top back middle. No small chips on the corners and edges which is common. Original factory molded beige color. No repaints no touch-ups no over sprays. The front clock bezel is clear transparent with no cracks, chips or hazing. The cream clock face is in excellent condition.
KNOBS: Original knobs are color matching and securely attached. All the lettering is still clear and legible. The tuning dial works fine.
LOGO: The Admiral logo is in good condition.
DIAL LIGHT: No dial light not designed with one but one can be added for an extra charge.
CLOCK MECHANICAL CONDITION: Clock works and keeps accurate time. Clock motor is silent no humming no buzzing no ticking noises. Alarm and clock set function works and goes off at the correct set times. Alarm buzzer works. Sleep timer works.
INTERNAL ELECTRONICS: All paper and wax capacitors have been replaced with modern equivalents so this radio has another 50+ years or more of playing time! The tubes are working fine. All out-of-spec resistors have been replaced with modern correct value and voltage equivalents. There is no loud or pervasive hum. There is no loud or pervasive static between stations. The set has been aligned according to factory specifications. All wiring has been thoroughly checked for possible bridging and weak solder connection. The radio has been thoroughly cleaned and inspected.
POWER CORD: The power cord and plug are good original working condition with no cracks, or splits. No exposed wiring.
BACKING BOARD: Original backing board is intake securely attached legible printing.
FACTORY LABELS AND STICKERS: No missing bottom labels.
