DESCRIPTION:  Tabletop tube AM shortwave radio manufactured by RCA Victor in 1948 in excellent working and very good physical condition. Picks up AM stations clearly and loudly up and down the dial. No cracks, chips, or major scratches. Couple paint dings throughout. This brown original factory painted ivory Bakelite cabinet is beautiful glossy condition. Original factory ivory paint no repaints no over spray and no touch ups. None needed. Solid metal knobs are original and securely attached. This vintage radio receives AM station great with or without an external antenna attachment. Shortwave reception would be improved by a long aerial antenna wire. Any long hank of wire will do. This radio is over 65 years old! All the dial numbers are crisp and clear. Volume on/off switch works. Tone selector works. Phono AM shortwave selector works. The tuning dial rotates through a large center dial with pinholes that is clear no yellowing no missing center metal cap.  Metal surround trim is tarnished with age but not oxidized or rusted. No missing ink, smudges, or rub-off on dial lettering. The tuning dial works fine. No slipping. So neat! Center dial light works and lights brightly! Replaced with LED so it have much longer lifetime and lights brighter. All paper and wax capacitors have been replaced with modern equivalents so this radio has another 50+ years or more of playing time! Bottom factory label is not missing. Bottom metal skirt is excellent classy touch with no dents. Bottom rubber feet are intact and practical. The tubes are working fine. All out-of-spec resistors have been replaced with modern correct value and voltage equivalents. There is no loud or pervasive hum. There is no loud or pervasive static between stations. The set has been aligned according to factory specifications. The replacement power cord and plug are in excellent working condition with no cracks, or splits. The radio has been thoroughly cleaned and inspected. All wiring has been thoroughly checked for possible bridging and weak solder connection. Comes from non-smoking, mature, clean professional environment.
