Gilded Age Ivory Bakelite 1947 Airline Model 74WG-1509 AM Vacuum Tube AM Radio Excellent Condition Great Sounding!!
DESCRIPTION: Tabletop tube radio manufactured by Montgomery Ward Airline in the 1947 time frame still in excellent working and physical condition. Picks up AM stations clearly and loudly up and down the dial. Excellent classic design. Original factory painted ivory color. Not repainted no touch up no over spray. None needed. Few paint dings throughout due to age. No cracks, no chips, no major scratches. Original glossy finish. Original factory grill cloth is clean no rips no runs no stains no smells. This radio is over 70 years old! All the dial numbering and lettering is crisp and clear on tuning dial. The dial is transparent clear plastic in excellent condition with slight yellowing no cracks. No other missing numbering, dots or dashes, or anything. No smudges or yellowing. Original back panel is not missing. The original matching tuning and volume dial knobs work fine. The unit powers on and off with a definite click. Dial bulb light up brightly. Replaced with modern LED bulb so it is brighter and never needs replacing. All out of spec capacitors have been replaced with modern equivalents so this radio has another 70+ years or more of playing time! The tubes are working fine. All out-of-spec resistors have been replaced with modern correct value and voltage equivalents. The original power cord and polarized plug is in excellent working condition. No exposed wiring. No pervasive hum. No pervasive static. Stations tune in clearly and distinctly. The radio has been thoroughly cleaned and inspected. All wiring has been thoroughly checked for possible bridging and weak solder connection.
