Cowboy Country Wood 1939 Stewart Warner Model 07-5R1 Vacuum Tube AM Shortwave Radio Rustic Looking Big Sound!
DESCRIPTION: Wood cabinet tabletop vacuum tube AM shortwave radio. Possibly a concoction of a Stewart Warner Model 07-5R1 chassis from 1939 time frame and a wood cabinet from Stewart Warner or some other manufacturer. Has a look like it went across the country in a covered wagon!
SOUND QUALITY: Picks up AM and shortwave stations clearly and loudly around the dial. Shortwave reception is best accomplished with an external wire antenna.
CABINET CONDITION: Cabinet looks like an original wood cabinet made by a radio manufacturer possibly Stewart Warner but maybe not. Does not look homemade. Has original looking bottom decal and bowed top curved edges like it was made in a factory. The grill cut out routing looks machine made not hand carved. The tuning dial cut out window looks hand done. Hard to say. The grill cloth looks original judging by the appearance of the backing adhesive. The finish looks aged, yellowed, with blemished like it was at the OK Corral. No decals.
KNOBS: Original volume and tuning knobs are matching and securely attached with no cracks.
LOGO: No logos identified.
DIAL LIGHT: No dial light. But can be added for an extra charge.
CLOCK: no clock
INTERNAL ELECTRONICS: All paper and wax capacitors have been replaced with modern equivalents so this radio has another 50+ years or more of playing time! The tubes are working fine. All out-of-spec resistors have been replaced with modern correct value and voltage equivalents. There is no loud or pervasive hum. There is no loud or pervasive static between stations. The set has been aligned according to factory specifications. All wiring has been thoroughly checked for possible bridging and weak solder connection. The radio has been thoroughly cleaned and inspected.
POWER CORD: Replacement power cord and safety polarized plug are in excellent working condition. No breaks, no splits, no repair with electrical tape, or other. No exposed wiring.
BACKING BOARD: No backing board with this model.
FACTORY LABELS AND STICKERS: No appearance of a bottom factory label. Some pencil writing of tube layout on the bottom
