DESCRIPTION: Lunch box style vacuum tube AM radio manufactured by Zenith in 1950 time frame in excellent working and physical condition. Looks like an old leather briefcase.

SOUND QUALITY: Picks up AM stations very clearly and loudly around the dial without need of external antenna attachment.

BATTERY: Original battery is not included.

CABINET CONDITION: Cabinet is original factory constructed wood cabinet with faux rawhide texture covering. No cracks, chips,  discoloration or major scratches or missing pieces. Vinyl covering is brown with no rips, no separated edges, some wear through on top and corners due to age. Molded brown plastic front display cover is in excellent condition with no cracks, no chips, no major scratches. Pops open as designed with clasp. Radio turns on when display opens up! Tuning clear cover is original clear, has hairline crack in lower left hand section. Pop up display hinge is in excellent condition, secure, not loose, and aligned. Handle and base mounts are tarnished but securely attached. Front metal clasp is in excellent working condition but tarnished. All four original bottom feet securely mounted. Back battery compartment hinge is in excellent condition. Front display edge trim plastic has cracked corner but intact not falling apart.

KNOBS: Original factory matching tuning and volume knobs in excellent condition not cracked securely mounted.

LOGO: No missing logos

DIAL LIGHT: No dial light. Not designed with one but can be added for an extra charge.

CLOCK: No clock.

INTERNAL ELECTRONICS: All paper and wax capacitors have been replaced with modern equivalents so this radio has another 50+ years or more of playing time! The tubes are working fine. All out-of-spec resistors have been replaced with modern correct value and voltage equivalents. There is no loud or pervasive hum. There is no loud or pervasive static between stations. The set has been aligned according to factory specifications. All wiring has been thoroughly checked for possible bridging and weak solder connection. The radio has been thoroughly cleaned and inspected.

POWER CORD: The original power cord and plug are in excellent working condition with no cracks, or splits. No exposed wiring.

BACKING BOARD: No backing board. no designed with one. Electronics compartment stays shut securely. 

FACTORY LABELS AND STICKERS: No missing factory labels inside the electronics front compartment.
