Alpine White 1959 Crosley Ranchero T-60 AM Vacuum Tube Radio Mid Century Perfection!
DESCRIPTION: This design is as close to the perfect late 50s mid century design as you can get. Could pass for a modern design even. Back in its day, this was a very high end luxury model. Think Bang and Olufsen, Sennheiser, or Bose. Some of the highest quality materials inside and out from any manufacturer of the period. This particular radio is classic white color with charcoal grill and gold metal trim. All Rancheros are rare to begin with and getting harder and harder to find in any condition. Rancheros are remarkable on the inside too. The electro mechanicals are top notch. Very few components comparatively speaking. Fewer components means less drift and performance degradation. The sound is loud and clear as a bell too! Tabletop tube AM radio manufactured by Crosley in 1959 in excellent+ physical and working condition. This quality manufacturer is one of the only ones still around today and still making radios. Just goes to show. This radio is as solid as a brick. No cracks. No chips. No major scratches. Original factory painted color, glossy no major scratches, chips, or abrasions. Couple paint dings and nicks. There's a lot of gold metal trim so it feels high quality to the touch. The metal pieces of this particular radio are in very good condition. Some tarnish no rust. The clear tuning display is not scratched, cracked, hazy, or yellowed. Picks up AM stations clearly and loudly up and down the dial without need of external antenna attachment. A rare model in a rare color. Knobs are original and securely attached no broken posts. This radio is over 60 years old! Seems like it would have made sense to have a dial light. Not designed with one. No missing ink, smudges, or rub-off on dial lettering. The tuning dial works fine. No slipping no sticky points. All paper and wax capacitors have been replaced with modern equivalents, so this radio has another 50+ years or more of playing time! The tubes are working fine. All out-of-spec resistors have been replaced with modern correct value and voltage equivalents. There is no loud or pervasive hum. There is no loud or pervasive static between stations. The set has been aligned according to factory specifications. The only rather sorry point on Ranchero design is the weak power cord base interconnect which tends to fatigue and break off. The original power cord on this radio has been replaced with a brand new replacement power cord with polarized plug and stress relief bushing. No exposed wiring. Bottom factory labels are mostly rubbed off. The radio has been thoroughly cleaned and inspected. All wiring has been thoroughly checked for possible bridging and weak solder connection. Comes from non-smoking, mature, clean professional environment.
