DESCRIPTION: Tabletop tube AM clock radio alarm manufactured by Zenith in 1958 in very good physical and excellent working condition. Very rare color combo in this model.
SOUND QUALITY: Picks up AM stations clearly and loudly around the dial without need of external antenna attachment. Super loud and clear player!
CABINET CONDITION: Cabinet is original factory molded pink back and dark gray front plastic. Not repainted. No over spray. Not touched up. Small chips along the edges. No cracks or major scratches or missing pieces on top, front or right side. Bottom has three repaired hairline cracks. Left side has hairline heat crack. Beautiful low sleek profile. Cabinet is glossy. Black dark grey checkerboard faceted grid front is in excellent condition with no cracks or chips. Clock and tuning clear cover is in very good condition with inclusion stress micro-fractures on right side. No chips and securely attached. Not missing two little gold decorative disks, usually missing. Gold painted edge is slightly tarnished not totally rubbed off. Tuning and clock dial face is in good condition has numerous dings and oxidation pitting.
KNOBS: Volume and tuning knobs are securely attached missing metal inserts but no broken attach posts. Volume knob is slightly more yellowed than tuning knob but both are correct style to the model. Two replacement clock function knobs are in excellent condition and securely attached.
LOGO: Zenith center crest logo is in good condition.
DIAL LIGHT: No tuning dial light. Not designed with one. But can be added for an extra charge.
CLOCK: Clock works and keeps accurate time. Clock motor is silent. Clock and alarm set functions work. Sleep function works. Wake to radio or alarm works.
INTERNAL ELECTRONICS: All paper and wax capacitors have been replaced with modern equivalents so this radio has another 50+ years or more of playing time! The tubes are working fine. All out-of-spec resistors have been replaced with modern correct value and voltage equivalents. There is no loud or pervasive hum. There is no loud or pervasive static between stations. The set has been aligned according to factory specifications. All wiring has been thoroughly checked for possible bridging and weak solder connection. The radio has been thoroughly cleaned and inspected.
POWER CORD: The new replacement power cord and plug are in excellent condition with no cracks, or splits. No exposed wiring.
BACKING BOARD: The backing board is in excellent condition with no ripped corners and very stiff and all original four t-pin fasteners. Often these backing boards are missing or barely hanging on and missing t-pins.
FACTORY LABELS AND STICKERS: Missing bottom labels.
PROVENANCE: Previous owner identity is not known. Was gently used then stored in a dry cool environment for a long period of time. No evidence of prolonged exposure to cigarette smoking, moisture, or pets. Has been in our reserve inventories for a long time.
