DESCRIPTION: Tabletop Tube AM radio manufactured by Packard Bell in 1956 excellent working condition. Cabinet is original molded red color. The front white plastic lattice grill is in excellent condition. There was a hairline crack on top but it has been repaired and repainted. Knobs are original and securely attached. The knobs have chips on the outer edges. This radio is almost 60 years old! Incredibly, the radio has a dial light. Ain't never seen that before on this model series! Also, this radio is featured with tone control. Again, ain't never seen that before either! But wait there's more. This radio has a handle too! Pretty well optioned for this model. No missing ink, smudges, or rub-off on dial lettering. The tuning dial works fine. The power cable is securely attached. All paper and wax capacitors have been replaced with modern equivalents so this radio has another 50+ years or more of playing time! The tubes are working fine. The back was in really bad condition but it has been glued back together and strengthened with backing board. All out-of-spec resistors have been replaced with modern correct value and voltage equivalents. There is no loud or pervasive hum. There is no loud or pervasive static between stations. The set has been aligned according to factory specifications. The power cord and plug are good original working condition with no cracks, or splits. No exposed wiring. The radio has been thoroughly cleaned and inspected. All wiring has been thoroughly checked for possible bridging and weak solder connection. Comes from non-smoking, mature, clean professional environment no pets. When this radio was new, tailfins were all the rage!
