DESCRIPTION: This is one of the classiest looking clock radios ever made. If radios had movie personas, this one is Humphrey Bogart or Vivian Leigh. So debonair so cosmopolitan. The contours and ergonomics couldn't be more resonant and graceful. Set your alarm and wake up in Casablanca! AM Tabletop tube clock radio manufactured by Continental in the 1948 time frame still in excellent+ working condition. This radio has a very golden age of radio look. Two minor hairline heat cracks on top approximately 1-2" length. A few of the left side rounded vanes had broken off and are now repaired. No repaints no other modifications of any kind. All knobs, dial pointer, etc are present, working, not missing. The little gold metal clock knobs are original. Nice touch. Picks up AM stations clearly and loudly up and down the dial without external antenna attachment. Excellent art deco design! Original black plastic cabinet is flawless mirror-like glossy condition. The volume and tuning knobs are original matching black plastic securely attached. Clock works and keeps accurate time. Clock is quiet. Alarm works, Alarm set works. Clock set works. Sleep function works. This radio is over 60 years old! All the dial numbering and lettering is crisp and clear. Look at the neat Art Deco-ish type font! No missing numbering, dots or dashes, or anything. No smudges or yellowing. The back panel is good usable shape. The tuning and volume dials work fine. The unit powers on and off with a definite click. All out of spec capacitors have been replaced with modern equivalents so this radio has another 50+ years or more of playing time! The tubes are working fine. All out-of-spec resistors have been replaced with modern correct value and voltage equivalents. The original power cord and plug is in good working condition with no cracks, or splits or electrical tape repair. No exposed wiring. The radio has been thoroughly cleaned and inspected. All wiring has been thoroughly checked for possible bridging and weak solder connection. Comes from non-smoking, mature, clean professional environment no pets. When this radio was new, Harry S Truman was president! This thing belongs in a museum!
