Bright Coral Pink 1959 Philco G826-124 AM Vacuum Tube Radio Sounds Great! Excellent Retro 50s Looking Shape!
DESCRIPTION: This vintage radio is one you don't see too often, especially in this color. Unbelievable retro kitsch appeal in a hard to find color, called "Flame" in 1959. This antique tabletop tube AM radio manufactured by Philco in 1959 time frame is in excellent working condition. Look at the wild oblique angles!
CABINET CONDITION: Cabinet is original factory molded coral pink color. There are repaired hairline cracks on top right and left edges. No chips or major scratches.All original factory molded colors through and through. Not repainted no touch not over sprayed. The front decorative chrome trim is original excellent condition. Sometimes this trim piece is missing. White plastic tuning panel is excellent condition. Some rub off on raised tuning numbers.
SOUND QUALITY: Picks up AM stations clearly and loudly around the dial without need of external antenna attachment.
LOGOS: Philco factory gold painted raised letters some rub off.
KNOBS: Knobs are original, matching and securely attached. The tuning dial works no slipping no sticky spots. Volume gold metal center insert is not missing. Tuning gold metal center insert is missing.
DIAL LIGHT: Dial works and lights up brightly. replaced with modern LED for longer life.
POWER CABLE: The original power cord and plug are in excellent working condition with no cracks, or splits. No exposed wiring.
INTERNAL ELECTRONICS: All paper and wax capacitors have been replaced with modern equivalents. The tubes are working fine. All out-of-spec resistors have been replaced with modern correct value and voltage equivalents. Both Intermediate Frequency Transformers (IFTs) have been rebuilt to ensure static-free performance. The set has been aligned according to factory specifications. The radio has been thoroughly cleaned and inspected. All wiring has been thoroughly checked for possible bridging and weak solder connection.
CLOCK: No clock
BACKING BOARD: Factory original backing board is intact securely attached printing faded.
FACTORY LABELS: Bottom factory labels are intact and readable.
PROVENANCE: Previous owner identity is not known. Was gently used then stored in a dry cool environment for a long period of time. No evidence of prolonged exposure to cigarette smoking, moisture, or pets. Was probably used in or near the kitchen for much of its life.
