DESCRIPTION: Nice General Electric vintage vacuum tube radio. Vintage tabletop tube AM radio manufactured by GE in late fifties time frame in excellent working condition.
CABINET CONDITION. Cabinet is original molded dark gray front and light gray back color. All original factory molded colors through and through. Not repainted no touch up no over spray. Large cigarette burn on the top of the case. No cracks, chips, or major scratches. Front gold metal grill is in excellent condition. No dents, no dings, no major scratches. Front clock clear cover is in excellent condition with no cracks, no chips, no major scratches. Factory clock function printing is not rubbed off. Little red tuning pointer is original.
KNOBS: Knobs are original and securely attached. Not missing either of the gold metal center caps on tuning or volume knobs. These often go missing over the years. No missing ink, smudges, or rub-off on dial lettering. The tuning dial works. Two little clear clock knobs are original and securely attached.
DIAL LIGHTS: No dial light. Not designed with one. But can be added for an extra charge.
CLOCK: The clock works and keep accurate time. Clock motor is silent no humming no buzzing no ticking noises. Clock face is in excellent condition with no water stains, oxidation trails, or rust. The clock and alarm time set knob in back works. The alarm works. No buzzer wake to radio alarm only. The clock and alarm set function work. Sleep timer works. Top snooze button works.
POWER CORD: The original power cable and plug are in excellent working condition. No breaks, no age stiffness, no electrical tape repairs, or exposed wires.
All paper and wax capacitors have been replaced with modern equivalents so this radio has another 50+ years or more of playing time! The tubes are working fine. Both Intermediate Frequency Transformers (IFTs) have been rebuilt to ensure static free performance. All out-of-spec resistors have been replaced with modern correct value and voltage equivalents. There is no loud or pervasive hum. There is no loud or pervasive static between stations. The set has been aligned according to factory specifications. The radio has been thoroughly cleaned and inspected. All wiring has been thoroughly checked for possible bridging and weak solder connection.
LABELS: Bottom factory labels are missing.
BACKING BOARD: Not designed with backing board. Factory back cover molded in red plastic is in excellent condition with no crack, no chips, and no major scratches.
