DESCRIPTION: If you let your engineers run amok with absolutely no regard for the finance and accounting dept, this is the clock radio you would get! Rare, rare, rare. This is the first one I've seen in over 2 years. Excellent plus condition. This design has all the transitional features of the Sputnik period. Over-engineered beyond recognition. This model must have cost a ton in parts and tooling. This clock radio is the ONLY one I've ever come across that has an illuminated clock dial that stays on! I'm not talking about Sylvania's 'panelescent' display or glow-in-the-dark. It uses a high tech low wattage bulb like a modern day halogen. It glows orange like a flare from rocket engine! So cool. It has more buttons, dials, switches and knobs than you can shake an angry stick at! If you like Arvin Model 2585, this is that radio's nerdy brother! Tabletop Tube AM clock radio alarm manufactured by Arvin in 1961 time frame in excellent+ working condition. Cabinet is original turquoise aquamarine and white color. There is no characteristic crack on the top. No cracks, splits, chips or missing material anywhere. Gold metal mesh grill is not tarnished and not dented. Knobs are original and securely attached. The handle is built into the back of dial display. Very functional. This radio is one of the better ones for listening purposes. This radio is over 55 years old! No missing ink, smudges, or rub-off on dial lettering. The tuning dial works fine. The power cable is securely attached. All paper and wax capacitors have been replaced with modern equivalents so this radio has another 50+ years or more of playing time! The tubes are working fine. All out-of-spec resistors have been replaced with modern correct value and voltage equivalents. There is no loud or pervasive hum. There is no loud or pervasive static between stations. The set has been aligned according to factory specifications. The power cord and plug are good original working condition with no cracks, or splits. No exposed wiring. The radio has been thoroughly cleaned and inspected. All wiring has been thoroughly checked for possible bridging and weak solder connection. Comes from non-smoking, mature, clean professional environment no pets. When this radio was new, tailfins were all the rage!
