Sears SR3000 AM FM Cassette Player

This mini boombox AM FM radio and cassette player was sold by Sears Roebuck in the early eighties and is in excellent working and physical condition.
Sears Roebuck Company was a retail giant throughout the 20th Century selling everything for the house including furniture, electronics, furniture, tools, fashion, appliances, jewelry, etc.
The most common issue with these old cassette tape players are malfunctioning drive belts. Over time, these elastic neoprene belts get stretched or become dry and no longer turn the cassette bobbins. The result is cassette tapes get unwound into the tape player mechanicals.
Replacing these belts is must on all these old cassette tape players.
Most tape players rely on two belts. One is for the cassette player motor which drives the bobbin that turns the cassette tape wheel. The other drive belt turns the rubber pulley wheel in the head for play or record.
When one of these belts is loose or broken while playing only the head rubber wheel turns or only the bobbin turns and tape begins to unwind into the machine. When the drive belt is loose or broken, the tape won't fast forward or rewind.

This radio has two 4 inch speakers:

The radio features an internal transformer and power board. Many electronic devices today rely on external AC adapter which powers devices through a 3.5mm jack.

The AM FM electronics circuit board is a surface mount printed circuit board operating on 6V DC. Uses 4 C size batteries. Also operates on standard household 120 VAC at 60Hz via an external power cord.
There are two permanent magnet 4" speakers.
