DESCRIPTION: Rare model tabletop tube AM clock alarm radio manufactured by Silvetone Sears Roebuck in 1961 time frame in excellent plus physical and working condition. This was the time during early sixties when push buttons were all the craze!
SOUND QUALITY: Picks up AM stations clearly and loudly around the dial without need of external antenna attachment.
CABINET CONDITION: Cabinet is original factory molded ivory plastic front and pink back. No chips or major scratches or missing pieces. No cracks, no chips, no major scratches. The front white color molded plastic is in excellent condition also without cracks or chips or major scratches and securely attached. The clock and tuning clear cover is in excellent condition with no cracks, chips, or major scratches and securely attached. All push buttons are securely attached, won't pop off, slightly yellowed, and return to original levels (not lop-sided)
KNOBS: Original volume and tuning knobs are matching and securely attached with no cracks. No missing gold metal center inserts. Translucent gold color yellowed with age. Original matching ivory push buttons.
LOGO: No missing logos. Silvertone front chrome logo applique is intact no chipped letters. Aluminum front Silvertone logo plaque is not dented or dinged or warped. No rub off. No oxidation and securely attached.
DIAL LIGHT: Tuning dial light works and lights brightly. More visible in a darkened room.
CLOCK: Clock works and keeps accurate time. Clock motor is silent no humming no buzzing no ticking noises. Alarm and clock set function works and goes off at the correct set times. Buzzer alarm works. Wake to radio and radio with buzzer. Sleep timer works. Front clock face back panel is clean brass colored metal no dents or dings, not warped, no water stains and no oxidation trails. Clock function push buttons all work as designed with a firm clear sounding click. Sleep timer works.
INTERNAL ELECTRONICS: All paper and wax capacitors have been replaced with modern equivalents so this radio has another 50+ years or more of playing time! The tubes are working fine. All out-of-spec resistors have been replaced with modern correct value and voltage equivalents. There is no loud or pervasive hum. There is no loud or pervasive static between stations. The set has been aligned according to factory specifications. All wiring has been thoroughly checked for possible bridging and weak solder connection. The radio has been thoroughly cleaned and inspected.
POWER CORD: Original power cord and plug are in excellent working condition slightly hardened with age. No breaks, no splits, no repair with electrical tape, or other. No exposed wiring.
BACKING BOARD: No backing board with this model. Has pink color plastic backing cover.
FACTORY LABELS AND STICKERS: Bottom factory label is intact.
