Powder Pink and White 1959 RCA Victor Model C-2FE 'The Timeflair' Vacuum Tube AM Clock Radio Works Great Excellent Condition!
DESCRIPTION: Tabletop vacuum tube AM radio manufactured by RCA Victor in 1956 in excellent working and physical condition. Another funny, somewhat grammatically challenged, marketing name from RCA in the late fifties, "The Timeflair."
CABINET CONDITION: Cabinet is original molded pink front and white back color plastic in excellent condition. Original factory colors molded through and through. Not repainted, touched up, or over sprayed. No cracks or missing pieces or major scratches to the back white colored plastic cabinet. Front pink part has rounded chip along bottom edge. Front clear clock cover has crack on the bottom edge but clock cover ois securely attached. There are no other chips, or major scratches. Clock black back is in excellent condition with no rust, strains, fadiung or rub off.
WORKING CONDITION: Picks up AM stations very clearly and loudly up and down the dial without need of external antenna attachment.
LOGO: No missing logos.
KNOBS: The original knobs are in excellent condition no cracks no chips. No missing gold metal center caps. Usually these are missing. Side metal flap knobs are in excellent condition slightly tarnished.
LETTERING: No missing ink, smudges, or rub-off on tuning dial lettering. The tuning dial works fine and smooth no slipping. Red tuning pointer is in excellent condition.
DIAL LIGHT: No dial light. Not designed with one but can be added for an extra charge..
SOUND QUALITY: There is no loud or pervasive hum. There is no loud or pervasive static between stations unless you operate near modern megahertz devices. The set has been aligned according to factory specifications.
CLOCK: Clock works and keeps accurate time. Clock motor is silent. Clock and alarm set functions work. Sleep function works. Wake to radio or alarm works.
INTERNAL ELECTRONICS: All out of tolerance paper and wax capacitors have been replaced with modern equivalents so this radio has another 50+ years or more of playing time! The tubes are working fine. All out-of-spec resistors have been replaced with modern correct value and voltage equivalents. The radio has been thoroughly cleaned and inspected. All wiring has been thoroughly checked for possible bridging and weak solder connection.
BACKING BOARD: No backing board. Enclosed by matching white back plastic cover. No melted heat vents.
POWER CORD: The original power cord and plug are in excellent original working condition with no cracks, or splits. No exposed wiring.
FACTORY LABEL: Bottom factory labels is mostly intact, ratty edges.
PROVENANCE: Previous owner identity is not known. Was gently used then stored in a dry cool environment for a long period of time. No evidence of prolonged exposure to cigarette smoking, moisture, or pets.
