DESCRIPTION: Table top vacuum tube AM radio manufactured by Zenith in 1952 time frame. Bakelite in original factory painted original leaf green. Design is unique, mid century, post war industrial deisgn look.

SOUND QUALITY: Picks up AM stations clearly and loudly around the dial without need of external antenna attachment. The station frequency selectivity and sensitivity is excellent.

CABINET CONDITION: Cabinet is original molded Bakelite in factory painted green. Not repainted. NO touchup no over spray. No chips or major scratches or missing pieces. Minor paint dings throughout due to age and normal wear and tear not abused. The front gold metal decorative rings are in excellent condition no dents no warping. Not reglued which is often the case. The original top handle matching green caning has not broken segments which is often the case.

KNOBS: Original volume and tuning knobs are matching and securely attached with no cracks. Not missing gold metal center inserts. Did not come with them originally. Tuning needle pointer works as designed and does not rub up against the cabinet. 

LOGO: No missing logos. 

DIAL LIGHT: Tiny red power indicator light works.

CLOCK: no clock

INTERNAL ELECTRONICS: All paper and wax capacitors have been replaced with modern equivalents so this radio has another 50+ years or more of playing time! Both Intermediate Frequency Transformers have been rebuilt to ensure stronger reception and static free performance. Not an easy job on these Zenith canisters! The tubes are working fine. All out-of-spec resistors have been replaced with modern correct value and voltage equivalents. There is no loud or pervasive hum. There is no loud or pervasive static between stations. The set has been aligned according to factory specifications. All wiring has been thoroughly checked for possible bridging and weak solder connection. The radio has been thoroughly cleaned and inspected.

POWER CORD: Brand new replacement power cord and safety polarized plug are in excellent working condition. No breaks, no splits, no repair with electrical tape, or other. No exposed wiring.

BACKING BOARD: Original factory backing board is in excellent condition. Clear readable factory printing. Some slight fatigue no rips at the t-connectors. Usually some or all these t-connector holes are ripped.

FACTORY LABELS AND STICKERS: Original bottom factory label is intact.
