DESCRIPTION: Portable vacuum tube radio manufactured by Arvin in 1953 in excellent working and physical condition. 

SOUND QUALITY: Picks up AM stations clearly and loudly up and down the dial without need of external antenna attachment.

CABINET CONDITION: The cabinet is original rare green factory molded color plastic with alligator skin textured black covering. Not repainted. Not touched up. No over spray. Gold highlights are original factory painted not touched up. Usually this gold factory painted is rubbed off in areas or greening. Not this one. No cracks, chips or major scratches. Bottom hinge is loose, but the radio still snaps and stays shut. Front dial mirror is in excellent condition. Handle is in excellent condition with no breaks and securely attached. 

BATTERY: This radio is designed to work with standard household power outlet. Also works with batteries but correct size batteries are no longer manufactured. The original three cardboard tubes used to house batteries is still included which is amazing.

KNOBS: Original factory matching color knobs in green plastic. Tuning knob is in green plastic, all original. No broken attach posts.

DIAL LIGHT:  No dial light. Not designed with one.

POWER CORD: The original power cable is securely attached no breaks no cracks no exposed wiring.

CLOCK: No clock

INTERNAL ELECTRONICS: All paper and wax capacitors have been replaced with modern equivalents so this radio has another 50+ years or more of playing time! Both Intermediate Frequency Transformers (IFTs) have been rebuilt to ensure static-free performance. The tubes are working fine. All out-of-spec resistors have been replaced with modern correct value and voltage equivalents. There is no loud or pervasive hum. There is no loud or pervasive static between stations. The set has been aligned according to factory specifications. The antique radio has been thoroughly cleaned and inspected. All wiring has been thoroughly checked for possible bridging and weak solder connection.

BACKING BOARD: None. Not designed with one.

FACTORY LABELS: Inside factory label is intact and readable.
