Senora Pink 1956 Philco Model D-728-124 AM Vacuum Tube Radio Rare As Heck Near Mint Condition Beyond Extraordinary!
DESCRIPTION: Here's one for you radio fashionistas out there! Get your glam on with this radio that looks like it's off a Hollywood movie set! No other radio design has this original floral print with contrasting hot pink. Tabletop tube AM radio manufactured by Philco in 1956 time frame in excellent working and near mint physical condition. Next to all the other radios on your shelf, this one screams "Look at me!"
CABINET CONDITION: Cabinet is factory original molded in bright hot pink color plastic. This radio is in excellent near mint condition with no cracks, chips or major scratches. The original front grill is in excellent condition with no dents or dings on rust. Not repainted, No overspray. No touch ups. None needed. The front grill is not fabric. It is a floral mantilla pattern that was painted on at the Philco factory onto the gold metal pinhole grill.
WORKING CONDITION: Picks up AM stations very clearly and loudly around the dial without need of external antenna attachment. Loud and clear with great sensitivity. There is no loud or pervasive hum. There is no loud or pervasive static between stations unless you operate near modern megahertz devices. The set has been aligned according to factory specifications. The tuning dial works fine.
LOGO: No missing logos. Front gold metal logo trim plate is in excellent un-dented un-dinged condition no tarnish. Securely attached.
KNOBS: Tuning knob is original and in excellent condition no broken attach posts. Volume knob is original missing gold metal center cap. Knobs are matching and factory original.
LETTERING: All lettering in excellent condition. Floral pattern is clear not faded no flaking. No rub off on raised black painted tuning numbers
DIAL LIGHT: No dial light. Not designed with one.
CLOCK: Clock works and keeps accurate time. Clock motor is not silent. Has a whirring motor sound not grating not buzzing. No humming no buzzing no ticking noises. Alarm and clock set function works and goes off at the correct set times. Wake to radio or radio and buzzer. Sleep timer works. Front white clock face back panel is white no dents or dings, not warped, no water stains. Clock arms are original black, not tarnished or rusted, securely attached.
INTERNAL ELECTRONICS: All out of tolerance paper and wax capacitors have been replaced with modern equivalents so this radio has another 50+ years or more of playing time! The tubes are working fine. All out-of-spec resistors have been replaced with modern correct value and voltage equivalents. The radio has been thoroughly cleaned and inspected. All wiring has been thoroughly checked for possible bridging and weak solder connection.
BACKING BOARD: Original factory backing board is in excellent condition securely attached.
POWER CORD: The original power cord and plug are in excellent original working condition with no cracks, or splits. No exposed wiring.
FACTORY LABEL: Bottom label is mostly intact. Water stained.
