DESCRIPTION: This antique radio was manufactured by Hallicrafters in 1957 time frame. These vintage radio models were usually molded in black or white. Sometimes the grills are factory painted blue, pink or yellow. Yellow is the rarest of the painted grills. A wonderful tabletop tube AM retro radio in excellent working and physical condition. Picks up AM stations clearly and loudly up and down the dial without need of external antenna attachment. The cabinet is original shiny black plastic. Absolutely stunning color combo! Original factory painted yellow grill! Not repainted over sprayed. Some pinpoint touchup of paint dings on grill using a tooth pick. No fading, flaking, or discoloration of original factory painted yellow grill. Original factory molded black color through and through. No repaints on this antique radio. No touch ups. No over spray. No crack, chips, or major scratches. There are small dings throughout especially around the front edge. Iconic tri-star tuning knob is original and securely attached in excellent condition. No greening, or rubbed off to the gold factory painted tri-star which is common due to normal use. This retro radio is 60 years old! No dial light. Not designed with one. No missing ink. There are no smudges or rub-off on dial lettering. The Hallicrafters grill logo is chipped . The kitschy-est of kitsch! The tuning dial works fine. No dial light. Not designed with one. The original power cable is securely attached. All paper and wax capacitors have been replaced with modern equivalents so this radio has another 50+ years or more of playing time! The tubes are working fine. All out-of-spec resistors have been replaced with modern correct value and voltage equivalents. There is no loud or pervasive hum. There is no loud or pervasive static between stations. The set has been aligned according to factory specifications. The replacement power cord and plug are excellent working condition with no cracks, or splits. No exposed wiring. Factory original backing board is in excellent condition securely attached with clear readable printing. Bottom factory label is in excellent condition. The antique radio has been thoroughly cleaned and inspected. All wiring has been thoroughly checked for possible bridging and weak solder connection. Comes from non-smoking, mature, clean professional environment..
