DESCRIPTION: Nice General Electric vintage vacuum tube radio. Vintage tabletop tube AM radio manufactured by GE in early sixties time frame in excellent working and physical condition.
SOUND QUALITY: Picks up AM stations clearly and loudly around the dial without need of external antenna attachment.
CABINET CONDITION: Cabinet is in excellent condition. Original factory molded ivory color plastic. All original factory molded colors through and through. Not repainted. No over spray. Not touched up. No major scratches or missing pieces. There is a chip on the front top edge. There is a hairline crack on the left lower front corner. Clear clock cover is in excellent condition with no chips or major scratches and securely attached. Small hairline crack downward from cloick function button. Clock and radio function lettering is not rubbed off at all. No rust, oxidation, fading, or stains on clock back panel.
KNOBS: Original matching knobs are in excellent condition and securely attached. No broken attach posts. Little clock function knob is a replacement and securely attached. Volume knob and gold center are in excellent condition, no chips, no tarnish.
LOGO: No missing logo.
DIAL LIGHT: No dial light not designed with one. But can be added for an extra charge.
CLOCK: Clock works and keeps accurate time. Clock motor is silent no humming no buzzing no ticking noises. Alarm and clock set function works and goes off at the correct set times. Alarm buzzer works. Wake to radio only no buzzerr. Sleep timer works. Snooze button on top works.
INTERNAL ELECTRONICS: All paper and wax capacitors have been replaced with modern equivalents. Both Intermediate Transformers (IFTs) have been rebuilt so this radio has another 50+ years or more of playing time! The tubes are working fine. All out-of-spec resistors have been replaced with modern correct value and voltage equivalents. There is no loud or pervasive hum. There is no loud or pervasive static between stations. The set has been aligned according to factory specifications. All wiring has been thoroughly checked for possible bridging and weak solder connection. The radio has been thoroughly cleaned and inspected.
POWER CORD: The original power cord and plug are in excellent condition with no cracks, or splits. No exposed wiring.
FACTORY LABELS AND STICKERS: No missing factory labels. Back factory label is mostly intact.
BACKING BOARD: Original factory backing board is intact and securely mounted. Factory info printing is readable with no water stains and little fading.
PROVENANCE: Previous owner identity is not known. Was gently used then stored in a dry cool environment for a long period of time. No evidence of prolonged exposure to cigarette smoking, moisture, or pets. Was probably used in or near kitchen for much of its life.
