Aqua and White Mid Century Vintage 1960 General Electric C-451B AM Tube Clock Radio Wow!
DESCRIPTION: Tabletop tube AM clock radio manufactured by GE in 1960 in excellent working and physical condition. This design is replete with 50's design flair; superfluous buttons, oblique angles, and loud color contrasts. All it needs is a ton of chrome and Naugahyde and you would mistake it for a Cadillac. If you wanted to outdo your neighbor with the wildest over-the-top clock radio to match your tailfins in the garage, this is the clock you would have bought in 1960! Cabinet is original teal or aquamarine color. Beautiful shade. No cracks on the top! Knobs are original and securely attached. The push buttons on top work. The button gold lettering has worn off but letter impressions are readable. The large pedal snooze time set works. It was cracked at one point but has been repaired. The clock keeps accurate time. The sleep timer works. Tricky thing about these sleep timers, there's no indicator of sleep time setting. A strange design. Sleep timer can set to 15, 30, 45 and 60 mins by pressing the button 1, 2, 3, or 4 times respectively. The clock motor is silent. The clock time set function works. The alarm set function works. The alarm buzzer works. This radio is almost 60 years old! Dial light works and lights brightly. Dial light illuminates from behind the radio tuning indicator and follows the movement of the tuning indicator. No missing ink, smudges, or rub-off on dial lettering. The tuning dial works fine. No slipping. The power cable is securely attached. All paper and wax capacitors have been replaced with modern equivalents so this radio has another 50+ years or more of playing time! The tubes are working fine. All out-of-spec resistors have been replaced with modern correct value and voltage equivalents. There is no loud or pervasive hum. There is no loud or pervasive static between stations. The set has been aligned according to factory specifications. This vintage radio feature the original aqua power cord and plug. Both are in good original working condition with no cracks, or splits. No exposed wiring. This antique radio has been thoroughly cleaned and inspected. All wiring has been thoroughly checked for possible bridging and weak solder connection. Comes from non-smoking, mature, clean professional environment.
