Never Before Seen! Lavender Purple 1957 Motorola Model 5T27V-1 Never Before Seen Discovery!

Unbelievably Rare Find!

1957 Motorola Model 5T27V-1

PURPLE!

Never before seen never knew existed!

To say this radio is rare would be an understatement.

This radio from Motorola was manufactured in 1957 timeframe. Identical to Model 57H.

Available in brown, ivory, green and blue. A rare model to find in any color.

This particular is in excellent plus condition with no cracks, no chips, no modifications, and no replaced or non-original parts.

The back top edge does not have hairline crack. Usually the top has a hailine crack due to stress from removing and installing backing board numer times. Do not remove the backing board unless you need to! If you do remove it, be very gentle!

Here's a picture of the green 57H for comparison:

Here's a blue 57H. The purple one is definately purple. It's not blue. I've seen the blue ones. For sure, and I am not color blind.

The front gold laminate tuning panel is in excellent condition.

The front tuning back panel is gold laminate. Other examples have been gold pinstripe pattern laminate.

A previous owner replace the filter capacitors but that's it! There some non-water soluble glue someone used to reglue the bottom label top right corner.

Works! Loudly and clearly!

Now...

The gentle most loving of all dis-assemblies (partial).

Notice the front "M" logois in ner new condition. Sometimes the chrome paint gets scuffed and fades.

All original matching barrel knobs in white.

Original clear tuning cover is in excellent condtion, but has tendency to get loose. Other examples have covers that are more tightly attached.

The inside of the radio is clean! For a 65 year old radio, it nearly pristine.

All original Motorola vacuum tubes.

The filter capacitors have been replaced.

All other electronic components look original.

Speaker is original. The bumblebee "death" capacitor is original.

A zip tie was added to minimize wire fatigue during the repair. Another zip tie was added to the power cord.

Original label is in excellent condition. No water stains! Some glue residue on top right corner.

Original red inspection sticker.

No broken or chipped backing board attachment bottom slots.

The top power button is white un-yellowed. Usually this top button yellows with age.

Original speaker is stamped Motorola.

Power indicator light works.

Original matching knobs.

Tuning window clear bubble cover is in excellent condition with no broken tabs or warping. But, for some reason is not tighly fitted on to radio. Perhaps factory mold tolerance were off or effects of tempurature over the years caused this cover to not stay secured as tightly as other 5T27's or 57H's.
