Mocha Brown Bakelite Bullet 1947 Farnsworth Model GT-050 AM Vacuum Tube Radio Sounds Great!
DESCRIPTION: Farnsworth is a big name among the early pioneers of radio and television. The rivalry between Farnsworth and RCA Sarnoff is like Jobs and Gates of modern day. Tabletop tube radio manufactured by Farnsworth in 1947 still in very good physical and excellent working condition. Dial lights up brightly. The knobs are original matching brown swirly plastic securely attached. No chips or major scratches anywhere on the cabinet! There is a repaired hairline crack on the right side. There are two hairline cracks on the bottom that has been repaired. Original factory swirly brown molded Bakelite. Picks up AM stations clearly and loudly up and down the dial without external antenna attachment. This radio is over 70 years old! All the dial numbering and lettering is crisp and clear. Clear dial plastic is original no cracks. The tuning and volume dials work fine. The unit powers on and off with a definite click. The original bottom label is intact about 50% there. All out of spec capacitors have been replaced with modern equivalents so this radio has another 50+ years or more of playing time! The tubes are working fine. All out-of-spec resistors have been replaced with modern correct value and voltage equivalents. The power cord and plug is original with no cracks, or splits or electrical tape repair. Has beautiful swirly brown plug. No exposed wiring. The radio has been thoroughly cleaned and inspected. All wiring has been thoroughly checked for possible bridging and weak solder connection. Comes from non-smoking, mature, clean professional environment.
