Mocha Brown 1942 Zenith Model 6-D-612 AM Vacuum Tube Radio Beauty of Bakelite!
DESCRIPTION: Tabletop vacuum tube AM radio manufactured by Zenith in 1942 time frame in excellent working and physical condition. Original factory molded brown swirly Bakelite no repaint, no over spray, no touch up. None needed. This vintage radio is over 75 years old! Beautiful shiny Bakelite construction with nice louvered grill design. No missing ink, smudges, or rub-off on dial lettering. The tuning dial works fine no slipping no sticky spots. Original tuning dial window is clear plastic no major scratches slight warping no yellowing. Volume works with even smooth attenuation across the range. Tuning dial light works. Original knobs are securely attached no broken or repaired posts. Nice functional handle. The brand new replacement power cable and polarized plug is securely attached no breaks, no fraying no exposed wiring. All paper and wax capacitors have been replaced with modern equivalents so this radio has another 50+ years or more of playing time! The tubes are working fine. All out-of-spec resistors have been replaced with modern correct value and voltage equivalents. There is no loud or pervasive hum. There is no loud or pervasive static between stations. The set has been aligned according to factory specifications. Antenna backing board is intact with no cracks no warping crisp edges and corners. The radio has been thoroughly cleaned and inspected. All wiring has been thoroughly checked for possible bridging and weak solder connection. Comes from non-smoking, mature, clean professional environment.
