DESCRIPTION: Portable vacuum tube AM radio manufactured by Zenith in 1954 thime frame in excellent working and physical condition.
SOUND QUALITY: Picks up AM stations clearly and loudly around the dial without need of external antenna attachment.
CABINET CONDITION: Cabinet is original factory molded burgundy maroon color plastic. Not repainted. No over spray. Not touched up. No cracks, chips or major scratches or missing pieces. Brass color metal front mesh grill is in excellent condition with no rust, no dents, and securely attached. Ivory plastic handle is solid no cracks no chips. Station preset buttons are ivory slightly yellowed none missing.
KNOBS: Original volume and tuning knobs are securely attached no cracks, no broken attachment posts, no missing center metal inserts. .
LOGO: No missing logos. Front Zenith crest logo is intact no missing or bent crown peaks.
DIAL LIGHT: Tuning dial light works and follows arc of tuning point as it moves.
INTERNAL ELECTRONICS: All paper and wax capacitors have been replaced with modern equivalents so this radio has another 50+ years or more of playing time! The tubes are working fine. All out-of-spec resistors have been replaced with modern correct value and voltage equivalents. There is no loud or pervasive hum. There is no loud or pervasive static between stations. The set has been aligned according to factory specifications. All wiring has been thoroughly checked for possible bridging and weak solder connection. The radio has been thoroughly cleaned and inspected.
POWER CORD: The original power cord and plug are in excellent condition with no cracks, or splits. Not brittle or hard. Soft and pliable no micro cracks. No exposed wiring.
BACKING BOARD: No backing board. Unit was designed with color matching plastic back cover no cracks, no chips, and securely mounted.
FACTORY LABELS AND STICKERS: Bottom factory labels are intact in excellent condition.
