DESCRIPTION: Tabletop tube AM clock radio alarm manufactured by Motorola in 1957 time frame in excellent working and physical condition. Very attractive late fifties low and sleek step design in original factory molded dark brown color, almost black.
SOUND QUALITY: Picks up AM stations very clearly and loudly around the dial without need of external antenna attachment.
CABINET CONDITION: Cabinet is original factory molded urea plastic a high quality dense plastic that predates polcarbonate plastics today. Original factory molded colors through and through. Not repainted no touch up no over spray. The front gold aluminum tuning fascia panel is in excellent condition with no dents, dings, oxidation trails, or rust. The red M logo is impeccable. The clear plastic clock cover is in excellent condition with no cracks, chips, scratches or micro-inclusions.
KNOBS: Original matching beehive factory knobs are securely attached. Gold translucent tuning skirt is in excellent condition with no cracks, no chips, no faded numbers. Original matching factory clock knobs. No stripped internal post slots. No chipped edges.
LOGO: No missing logos. Front Motorola logo is in very good condition but faded. Often these logos are missing.
DIAL LIGHT: No dial light. Not designed with one but can be added for an extra charge.
CLOCK: Clock works and keeps accurate time. Clock motor has no buzzing no ticking noises. Alarm and clock set function works and goes off at the correct set times. The clock and tuning numbers are not rubbed off. Clear clock cover is securely attached. Clock and radio function lettering is clear and readable.
INTERNAL ELECTRONICS: All paper and wax capacitors have been replaced with modern equivalents so this radio has another 50+ years or more of playing time! The tubes are working fine. All out-of-spec resistors have been replaced with modern correct value and voltage equivalents. There is no loud or pervasive hum. There is no loud or pervasive static between stations. The set has been aligned according to factory specifications. All wiring has been thoroughly checked for possible bridging and weak solder connection. The radio has been thoroughly cleaned and inspected.
POWER CORD: The original brown power cord and plug are in excellent condition with no cracks, or splits.
BACKING BOARD: Factory back cover is original and securely attached. Factory printing is clear and readable.
FACTORY LABELS AND STICKERS: No missing bottom factory labels.
PROVENANCE: Previous owner identity is not known. Was gently used then stored in a dry cool environment for a long period of time. No evidence of prolonged exposure to cigarette smoking, moisture, or pets.
