DESCRIPTION: Tabletop tube AM clock radio alarm manufactured by Admiral in 1955 time frame in excellent working and physical condition.
SOUND QUALITY: Picks up AM stations very clearly and loudly around the dial without need of external antenna attachment.
CABINET CONDITION: Cabinet is original factory molded magenta burgundy color plastic. No cracks, chips or major scratches. No hairline cracks on the top. Amazing. No heat damages. Impressive! All original factory molded colors through and through. Not repainted, no touch or over spray. No chips or major scratches on plastic back.
KNOBS: Original matching volume and tuning factory knobs are securely attached. Original clear factory tuning knob is in excellent condition with no broken attach post, no chipped flanges. No missing gold metal center insert.
HEAT SHIELD: a heat shield has been fabricated and attached underside to minimize possibility of heat damage in the future.
LOGO: No missing logos.
DIAL LIGHT: No dial light. Not designed with one but can be added for an extra charge.
CLOCK: No clock
INTERNAL ELECTRONICS: All paper and wax capacitors have been replaced with modern equivalents so this radio has another 50+ years or more of playing time! The tubes are working fine. All out-of-spec resistors have been replaced with modern correct value and voltage equivalents. There is no loud or pervasive hum. There is no loud or pervasive static between stations. The set has been aligned according to factory specifications. All wiring has been thoroughly checked for possible bridging and weak solder connection. The radio has been thoroughly cleaned and inspected.
POWER CORD: The original power cord and plug are in excellent condition with no cracks, or splits. No exposed wiring.
BACKING BOARD: no backing board. Not designed with one.
FACTORY LABELS AND STICKERS: Original bottom factory labels is intact and readable condition.
PROVENANCE: Was gently used, lovingly displayed, or stored in a dry cool environment for a long period of time. No evidence of prolonged exposure to moisture, smoking, cooking grease, pets or thick carpet.
