DESCRIPTION: Tabletop tube AM radio manufactured by Zenith in 1951 in excellent working and physical condition.

SOUND QUALITY: Picks up AM stations clearly and loudly up and down the dial. This vintage radio plays great with or without an external antenna attachment. This radio is over 70 years old! 

CABINET CONDITION: Original factory molded brown Bakelite cabinet in excellent condition with no cracks, no chips, no major scratches. Not repainted, not over sprayed or touched up. Original front gold metal tuning trim is in excellent plus condition with no dents, or major scratches. Not oxidized or rusted. Securely attached. Front metal grill mesh and backing grill fabric is in excellent condition. Top handle is functional and excellent condition. Handle buckles are oxidized. The handle has no broken caning loops. Often these old Zenith handles have lots of broken caning loops in the center of the handle.

KNOBS: All original factory matching knobs are in excellent condition. Volume on/off switch works. The tuning dial and pointer works not slipping no sticky spots.

DIAL LIGHT: Top red power indicator lights up when radio is turned on.

INTERNAL ELECTRONICS: All paper and wax capacitors have been replaced with modern equivalents so this radio has another 50+ years or more of playing time! The tubes are working fine. All out-of-spec resistors have been replaced with modern correct value and voltage equivalents. Both Intermediate Frequency Transformers (IFTs) have been rebuilt to ensure static-free performance. There is no loud or pervasive hum. There is no loud or pervasive static between stations. The set has been aligned according to factory specifications. Thoroughly cleaned and inspected. All wiring has been thoroughly checked for possible bridging and weak solder connection. Comes from non-smoking, mature, clean professional environment. 

POWER CORD: The brand new replacement power cord and safety polarized plug is in excellent original working condition with no cracks, or split. 

FACTORY LABELS: Mostly intact and readable. Water stained.

BACKING BOARD: Original backing board is in excellent condition with no cracks ripped corners. Better than most. With all four original t-pins.

PROVENANCE: Previous owner identity is not known. Was gently used then stored in a dry cool environment for a long period of time. No evidence of prolonged exposure to cigarette smoking, moisture, or pets.
