Nutmeg Brown 1950 Zenith Model C-724 AM/FM Vacuum Tube Radio Sounds Great Excellent Condition!
DESCRIPTION: Tabletop vacuum tube AM/FM radio manufactured by Zenith in 1959 time frame in excellent plus working and physical condition.
SOUND QUALITY: Picks up AM and FM stations clearly and loudly up and down the dial without need of external antenna attachment. FM dipole antenna is included for even better FM reception.
CABINET CONDITION: Cabinet is original factory molded nutmeg brown color plastic. Not repainted. No touch up. No over spray. Factory original molded color through and through. No cracks, chips, or major scratches or missing pieces. Original factory grill fabric is in excellent condition with no rips, no separated edges. There is a small run at the bottom the grill along the tuning bezel top edge. No water stains. Front clear tuning window is clear, no cracks, no scratches, securely attached. Raised edge chrome paint is worn thin in areas.
KNOBS: Original factory matching black and chrome plastic tuning and and volume knobs. Chrome paint ius rubbed off due to wear and normal use. AM FM band selector twists a little before it switches. Should not use excessive force to switch from AM and FM.
LOGO: No missing logos. Front center grill Zenith crown logo is in excellent condition.
DIAL LIGHT: No tuning or clock dial lights. Not designed with this one. But can be added for an extra charge.
CLOCK: No clock.
INTERNAL ELECTRONICS: All paper and wax capacitors have been replaced with modern equivalents so this radio has another 50+ years or more of playing time! The tubes are working fine. All out-of-spec resistors have been replaced with modern correct value and voltage equivalents. There is no loud or pervasive hum. There is no loud or pervasive static between stations. The set has been aligned according to factory specifications. All wiring has been thoroughly checked for possible bridging and weak solder connection. The radio has been thoroughly cleaned and inspected.
POWER CORD: The original power cord and plug are in excellent condition with no cracks, or splits. No exposed wiring.
BACKING BOARD: No backing board. Not designed with one. Comes with original nutmeg brown back cover in excellent condition with no cracks, no chips, no major scratches. No melted heat vents.
FACTORY LABELS AND STICKERS: Bottom factory label is missing
PROVENANCE: Was gently used then stored in a box in a dry cool environment for a long period of time. No evidence of prolonged exposure to moisture, smoking, cooking grease, pets or carpet. Don't remember when or where acquired. Was in our raw inventories for a while.
