DESCRIPTION: Tabletop vacuum tube AM clock radio alarm manufactured by Arvin in 1965 in excellent working and physical condition.
SOUND QUALITY: Picks up AM stations clearly and loudly up and down the dial without need of external antenna attachment.
CABINET CONDITION: Cabinet is original factory molded cornflower blue back and white front plastic. Yellowed somewhat on top and sides from sunlight exposure of periods of time. All original factory molded colors through and through. Not repainted no over spray no touch up. None needed. No cracks, chips, or major scratches or missing pieces. Unique top mounted tuning with enclosed tuning wheel. The front tuning and clock clear cover is original clear plastic no scratches and securely mounted. Gold perimeter edge trim is in very good condition with no greening some rub off. Front enclosed speaker grill cover is gold threading pattern that is reminiscent of neo-romantic late 60s fashion trend.
KNOBS: Volume knobs are chromed silver plastic with no greening some rub off. Gold metal center caps are not missing. Original blue tuning knob is in excellent condition no broken attachment post. Clock original knob is clear plastic and securely attached.
LOGO: No missing Arvin logos.
DIAL LIGHT: No tuning or clock dial lights. Not designed with this one. But can be added for an extra charge.
CLOCK: Clock looks like an eye from Bradbury-Orwellian dystopia. Clock works and keep accurate time. Clock motor is silent no humming no buzzing no ticking noises. Clock and alarm set time works. Alarm works. Wake to radio only only. No sleep timer.
INTERNAL ELECTRONICS: All paper and wax capacitors have been replaced with modern equivalents so this radio has another 50+ years or more of playing time! The tubes are working fine. All out-of-spec resistors have been replaced with modern correct value and voltage equivalents. There is no loud or pervasive hum. There is no loud or pervasive static between stations. The set has been aligned according to factory specifications. All wiring has been thoroughly checked for possible bridging and weak solder connection. The radio has been thoroughly cleaned and inspected.
POWER CORD: The original power cord and plug are in excellent condition with no cracks, or splits. No exposed wiring.
BACKING BOARD: Factory original backing board with crisp square corners and clear, readable print
FACTORY LABELS AND STICKERS: No missing labels.
PROVENANCE: Was gently used then stored in a dry cool environment for a long period of time. No evidence of prolonged exposure to moisture, smoking, cooking grease, pets or carpet.
