Honey Chestnut Solid Wood 1960s Westinghouse Model H680N7 AM/FM Vacuum Tube Radio Sounds Awesome! Excellent Condition!
DESCRIPTION: These 60s AM FM radios from large American manufacturers were the last hurrah of radios not imported from Asia to this day. Solid wood tabletop radio manufactured by Westinghouse in the 1960-time fame. Very high-quality wood construction with a lot of details which would have made this radio pretty expensive to manufacture back in its day (and today). Not overly heavy as you might think.
CABINET CONDITION: Cabinet is original factory construction in excellent condition with solid wood panels no plywood or particle board. No cracks, no chips, no peeling veneer or rot. No dents, dings, or stains. Original factory wood finish and clear coat, excellent condition. Front white plastic grill is in excellent condition with no cracks, chips, or major scratches. Top brass metal rail is nice and unique decorative feature.
SOUND QUALITY: Picks up AM and FM stations up and down the dial without the need for an external antenna attachment. Large 8” speaker cone has better bass response than most tabletop radios of this period.
LOGO: Front metal radio panel is in excellent condition with clear factory printing and graphics. Very little chrome trim paint rub off.
KNOBS: Original matching plastic chrome painted radio knobs are in excellent condition no faded or worn chrome paint. No cracks, no chips, and securely attached. All knobs are original, matching, securely attached, excellent condition. Tone knob works with good frequency modulation.
SPEAKERS: This radio features large size Approx 8” original factory speaker.
DIAL LIGHTS: None. Not designed with one but can be added for an extra charge.
POWER CABLE: The original brown power cord and plug are excellent original working condition with no cracks, or splits. No exposed wiring.
INTERNAL ELECTRONICS: Paper and wax capacitors have been replaced with modern equivalents so this radio has another 50+ years or more of playing time! The tubes are working fine. All out-of-spec resistors have been replaced with modern correct value and voltage equivalents. The set has been aligned according to factory specifications. The radio has been thoroughly cleaned and inspected. All wiring has been thoroughly checked for possible bridging and weak solder connection.
BACKING BOARD: Factory original fiberboard backing panel is intact securely attached.
FACTORY LABELS: Back factory printing is in excellent condition. Not missing any bottom factory labels.
