DESCRIPTION: Tabletop vacuum tube AM radio manufactured by Philco in 1941-1942 time frame in excellent working and physical condition. This is one of the earlier versions of this model series which Philco sold throughout the 40s. In contrast to what many might visualize, this is a radio you'd probably see in many 50s homes back in the day. How many people replace home appliances every year?

SOUND QUALITY: Picks up AM stations clearly and loudly up and down the dial without need of external antenna attachment. Tone knob works.

CABINET CONDITION: Cabinet is original factory swirly brown molded Bakelite. Very shiny. No cracks, chips, or major scratches. Not repainted, no over spray, no touch up. Broadcast frequency numbers are clear and readable. Replacement clear plastic dial cover is in excellent condition with no cracks, chips or hazing. Original tuning back is in excellent condition with clear graphics, colors, no rust no water stains no flaking.

KNOBS: Knobs are original, matching, and securely attached. Tuning dial works across the dial with no slipping or sticky spots.

LOGO: No missing logos.

DIAL LIGHT: Works and lights brightly.

CLOCK: no clock

INTERNAL ELECTRONICS: All paper and wax capacitors have been replaced with modern equivalents so this radio has another 50+ years or more of playing time! The tubes are working fine. All out-of-spec resistors have been replaced with modern correct value and voltage equivalents. There is no loud or pervasive hum. There is no loud or pervasive static between stations. The set has been aligned according to factory specifications. All wiring has been thoroughly checked for possible bridging and weak solder connection. The radio has been thoroughly cleaned and inspected.

POWER CORD: The brand new replacement power cord and safety polarized plug are in excellent condition with no cracks, or splits. No exposed wiring.

BACKING BOARD: backing board is missing. Antenna loop is internal.

FACTORY LABELS AND STICKERS: Bottom factory label is partially missing.Most there and readable.

PROVENANCE: Was gently used or stored in a dry cool environment for a long period of time. No evidence of prolonged exposure to moisture, smoking, cooking grease, pets or thick carpet.
