Plaza Pink Gold Mid Century 1957 Bulova Model 120 Tube AM Clock Radio Excellent Condition! Sounds Marvelous!
DESCRIPTION: Table top vacuum tube clock radio model manufactured by Bulova Watch Corp in 1957 time frame in excellent working and physical condition. Getting harder and harder to finds in this color and condition.
SOUND QUALITY: Picks up AM stations clearly and loudly around the dial without need of external antenna attachment.
CABINET CONDITION: Cabinet is original factory molded glossy pink urea plastic a hard quality plastic that predates modern polycarbonate plastics of today. Not repainted. No over spray. Not touched up. No cracks or major scratches or missing pieces. No cracks, chips, or scratches and securely attached. No heat crack on top. Heat shield has been added underneath to minimize heat reduce possibility of heat cracking in the future.
KNOBS: Original volume and tuning knobs are securely attached no cracks, no broken attachment posts, no missing center metal inserts. Original pink knobs have faded with age to a yellowish beige color. This is common for this model. All three original matching clock function knobs factory painted gold are in excellent condition.
LOGO: The front grill and Bulova badge logo plate is in excellent condition.
DIAL LIGHT: No tuning dial light. Not designed with one. But can be added for an extra charge.
CLOCK Clock works and keeps accurate time. Clock motor is silent no humming no buzzing no ticking noises. Alarm and clock set function works and goes off at the correct set times. No alarm buzzer wake to radio only. Sleep timer works. Clock face is in excellent condition with clear numbers no rust no oxidation or greening. No water stains some minor oxidation trails. Back clock and alarm time set screw is not missing.
INTERNAL ELECTRONICS: All paper and wax capacitors have been replaced with modern equivalents so this radio has another 50+ years or more of playing time! The tubes are working fine. Both Intermediate Frequency Transformers (IFTs) have been rebuilt to ensure static-free performance. All out-of-spec resistors have been replaced with modern correct value and voltage equivalents. There is no loud or pervasive hum. There is no loud or pervasive static between stations. The set has been aligned according to factory specifications. All wiring has been thoroughly checked for possible bridging and weak solder connection. The radio has been thoroughly cleaned and inspected.
POWER CORD: The original power cord and plug are in excellent condition with no cracks, or splits. No exposed wiring.
BACKING BOARD: Original factory backing board with clear factory printing.
FACTORY LABELS AND STICKERS: No missing factory labels.
PROVENANCE: Previous owner identity is not known. Was gently used then stored in a dry cool environment for a long period of time. No evidence of prolonged exposure to cigarette smoking, moisture, cooking grease, pets or carpet.
