DESCRIPTION: Tabletop vacuum tube AM/FM radio manufactured by Zenith in 1958 time frame in excellent plus working and physical condition.
SOUND QUALITY: Picks up AM and FM stations clearly and loudly up and down the dial without need of external antenna attachment. FM dipole antenna is included for even better FM reception.
CABINET CONDITION: Cabinet is original factory molded burgundy maroon color plastic. Not repainted. No touch up. No over spray. Factory original molded color through and through. No cracks, chips, or major scratches or missing pieces. Original factory grill fabric is in excellent condition with no rips, no separated edges. No water stains. Front clear tuning window is clear, no cracks, no scratches, securely attached. Gold foil tuning backing is in excellent condition with no rust, oxidation trails, water stains, or fading.
KNOBS: Original factory matching white plastic tuning and and volume knobs. AM FM band selector is cracked reglued.
LOGO: No missing logos. Front center grill Zenith crown logo and black Zenith emblem is in excellent condition no chipped letters.
DIAL LIGHT: No tuning or clock dial lights. Not designed with this one. But can be added for an extra charge.
CLOCK: No clock.
INTERNAL ELECTRONICS: All paper and wax capacitors have been replaced with modern equivalents so this radio has another 50+ years or more of playing time! The tubes are working fine. All out-of-spec resistors have been replaced with modern correct value and voltage equivalents. There is no loud or pervasive hum. AM Intermediate Frequency Transformers (IFTs) have been rebuilt to ensure static free performance. There is no loud or pervasive static between stations. The set has been aligned according to factory specifications. All wiring has been thoroughly checked for possible bridging and weak solder connection. The radio has been thoroughly cleaned and inspected.
POWER CORD: The original power cord and plug are in excellent condition with no cracks, or splits. No exposed wiring.
BACKING BOARD: Original factory backing board is in excellent condition. All four corner t-pins are original and matching.
FACTORY LABELS AND STICKERS: Bottom factory label is mostly there, intact, readble printing.
PROVENANCE: Was gently used then stored in a box in a dry cool environment for a long period of time. No evidence of prolonged exposure to moisture, smoking, cooking grease, pets or carpet.
