DESCRIPTION: Tabletop vacuum tube AM clock radio alarm manufactured by Sylvania in 1957 time frame excellent physical and working condition.
SOUND QUALITY: Picks up AM stations clearly and loudly up and down the dial without need of external antenna attachment.
CABINET: Cabinet is in excellent condition. Original factory molded black color plastic and golden "disco" grill front. Not repainted. Not touched up. Not over sprayed. No cracks or major scratches. There is a repaired hairline crack and chip on the left side. No other cracks, chips, or major scratches anywhere. Front chrome back painted grill, clear tuning and clock cover piece is in excellent condition with no cracks, no chips, no major scratches.
KNOBS: Original color matching ivory volume and tuning knobs are in excellent condition, no cracks, no broken attach posts.
PUSH BUTTONS: All four factory original matching top function push buttons are intact, no cracks, or chips, securely attached. Left to right: Sleep, On, Off, Auto working as designed not stuck or sticky. Buttons do not pop off.
LOGOS: No missing logos. Original Sylvania center grill logo is intact.
CLOCK: The clock works and keep accurate time. The clock motor is quiet on this one. The alarm works and goes off at correct set time. The clock and alarm set function work. Sleep timer works. Wake to radio and buzzer or wake to radio no buzzer. The clock clear cover is in excellent condition and transparent not yellowing no cracks or chips. No stress fractures, yellowing, or major scratches. Black clock panel is in very good condition with no rust or greening, oxidation trails, some water stains. No rub off rub-off in clock number lettering.
INTERNAL ELECTRONICS: The tubes are working fine. All out-of-spec resistors have been replaced with modern correct value and voltage equivalents. There is no loud or pervasive hum. There is no loud or pervasive static between stations unless you operate near modern megahertz devices. The set has been aligned according to factory specifications. Bottom factory labels are not missing. The radio has been thoroughly cleaned and inspected. All wiring has been thoroughly checked for possible bridging and weak solder connection. This radio has another 50+ years or more of playing time!
DIAL LIGHT: No dial light not designed with one but can be added for an extra charge.
POWER CABLE: The original white power cord and plug are in excellent condition with no cracks or brittleness. No exposed wiring.
BACKING BOARD: No backing board. Not designed with one. Black factory original molded back cover is in excellent condition with no cracks, chips, or major scratches. No melted heat vents.
PROVENANCE: Previous owner identity is not known. Was gently used then stored in a dry cool environment for a long period of time. No evidence of prolonged exposure to cigarette smoking, moisture, or pets.
