DESCRIPTION: Tabletop AM vacuum tube radio manufactured by RCA Victor in 1961 time frame in excellent working and physical condition. Once again, a puzzling model name from RCA.
SOUND QUALITY: Picks up AM stations clearly and loudly around the dial without need of external antenna attachment.
CABINET CONDITION: Original factory molded light turquoise plastic cabinet is in very good condition. All original factory molded colors through and through. No repaint, no over spray no touch up. None needed. No chips or major scratches. There is a repaired crack on the right top edge. Heat shield has been added underneath to prevent future cracking or warping due to heat. Front tuning dial backing and print is in excellent condition.
KNOBS: Original matching volume and tuning knobs are in excellent condition, securely attached no cracks, no broken attachment posts, no missing center gold metal inserts. Impossible. This is one of the only tuning knobs I've seen with no missing center gold metal insert. Almost always comes off and goes missing.
LOGO: No missing logos. Little white RCA Nipper logo is nice.
DIAL LIGHT: No tuning dial light. Not designed with one. But can be added for an extra charge.
INTERNAL ELECTRONICS: All paper and wax capacitors have been replaced with modern equivalents so this radio has another 50+ years or more of playing time! The tubes are working fine. BAll out-of-spec resistors have been replaced with modern correct value and voltage equivalents. There is no loud or pervasive hum. There is no loud or pervasive static between stations. The set has been aligned according to factory specifications. All wiring has been thoroughly checked for possible bridging and weak solder connection. The radio has been thoroughly cleaned and inspected.
BACKING BOARD: Factory original backing board is in excellent condition with clear readable print.
POWER CORD: The original power cord and plug are in excellent condition with no cracks, or splits. No exposed wiring.
PROVENANCE: Previous owner identity is not known. Was gently used then stored in a dry cool environment for a long period of time. No evidence of prolonged exposure to cigarette smoking, moisture, or pets. Was probably used in or near the kitchen for much of its life.
